What
we do

TEC conducts monthly expeditions into the topography of recorded sound. The terrain is the vinyl groove — a physical landscape of peaks, valleys, and micro-structures that the stylus reads as signal.

Expeditionists arrive equipped with a mess kit — plate, bowl, utensils, cup — for consuming field rations during the survey. Each member submits a field report documenting their sensory observations of the terrain traversed.

This is not passive listening. This is fieldwork.

"We're going to explore some peaks and valleys on Saturday with the help of two really small and hard crystals. I'll make some food and drinks for the voyage. If you are so equipped, please bring a mess kit in which you may receive your rations. You'll eat and listen attentively, recording each perceptible sensation in your Field Report."
